Why cold coffee?

This blog was started around 10am as I sat looking at my cup of coffee from 7am wondering if I should attempt to reheat it for the 5th time. Suddenly, Cold Coffee Chronicles popped into my head, and on no caffeine mind you.

Since becoming a mom I’ve realized it’s almost impossible to get through and enjoy a cup of coffee while it remains hot. Something always gets in the way. But such is life, no?  Between diapers, emails, errands, etc. it’s hard to just stop and enjoy life without the worry of not crossing something off our to-do list.

This blog is going to be my place to stop and enjoy. Enjoy what you may ask? Well, let me tell you. He’s about 22 lbs and 32 inches. My son, Hudson. Every single day he makes me laugh or smile. He’s 19 months old now and while I’ve kept the traditional baby book that contains the major milestones, I don’t have a place to document the small, seemingly insignificant events that happen everyday to make up this life.

Maybe I’m also slightly emotional and feeling sappy since I’m 30 weeks pregnant with baby #2.

One thing I don’t want is for life to get in the way of me relishing these moments. I want to use this blog as a way to capture my daily observation of their lives. From the major to the minor. I’m going to do my best to post something each day. It’s my own virtual baby book.

With this, I may have a cold cup of coffee, but my heart will always warm.
